Publications for Booksellers

Though they may hesitate to pronounce it aloud, booksellers often see Kate Whouley’s name in print (who-lee, rhymes with truly). For seven years, Kate penned the Bookseller At Large column in American Bookseller magazine and Bookselling This Week. Kate retired the column in Fall 2000 to focus her attention on two personal writing projects, Cottage For Sale: Must Be Moved, and The Memory of Laughter. In addition to her columns, she has written many feature articles including:

Fear Not: Selling Children's Books in the General Bookstore
A Painless Guide to Radio Advertising
How to Promote Local Authors without Going Crazy
Inventory System Shopping: Getting It Right
Paperback Booksmith: The History and Legacy of an Industry Pioneer
Just-In-Time: Three Little Words that Have Changed the Way We Do Business
A Conversation with Marshall Smith
Firing the Bad Boss (Within!)
