Though they
may hesitate to pronounce it aloud, booksellers often see Kate Whouley’s
name in print (who-lee, rhymes with truly). For seven years, Kate penned
the Bookseller At Large column in American Bookseller
magazine and Bookselling This Week. Kate retired the column in
Fall 2000 to focus her attention on two personal writing projects, Cottage
For Sale: Must Be Moved, and The Memory
of Laughter. In addition to her columns, she has written many
